This position reports to the Crossing Guard Supervisor. Assists pedestrians and school children in safely crossing city streets.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday (Compensated for 1.5 hours per shift, 3 hours total per day)

Morning

Hours:

8:15 AM - 9:00 AM*

Monday-Thursday Afternoon

Hours:

3:15 PM - 4:00 PM
* and Friday Afternoon

Hours:

1:15 PM - 2:00 PM*

* School District schedule changes may affect these hours.

This position does not offer benefits.

• No education or experience is required.
• Must be age 18 or older.
• Working knowledge of safety rules and regulations in assisting children in crossing streets is preferred.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and communicate effectively verbally.

Handheld stop sign, safety vest, and traffic cones (provided).

• Controls traffic at school crossing intersections.
• Assists school children safely crossing City streets on their way to and from school.
• Follows safety rules and regulations while performing duties.

Lifting: light - up to 20 lbs. typical

Repetitive: standing, walking, listening, talking, grasping, smiling.

Outdoors - all weather conditions (Coat provided)
