SALARY RATE: $41,652 - $50,652 (Annual Salary) based on the FTE
The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of responsible clerical and administrative tasks to assist the Development Director, such as organizing grant materials, assisting with donor communications, maintaining donor databases, preparing routine reports, maintaining accurate documentation and records, and supporting implementation of philanthropy‑funded programs. The work is confidential and time‑sensitive, requiring a high degree of professionalism, accuracy, and organization.
Qualifications- Basic
Experience:
½ year of clerical work demonstrating knowledge of English grammar, spelling, arithmetic, ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, write simply and directly, compare words and numbers quickly and accurately. - General
Experience:
2 years of clerical work demonstrating knowledge of English grammar, spelling, arithmetic, common office appliances and equipment, and the ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, carry out procedures in clerical work systems, speak and write simply and directly, compare words and numbers quickly and accurately, operate various kinds of office equipment. - Non‑qualifying
Experience:
Simple or repetitive clerical work limited to a short cycle of tasks and manual dexterity (e.g., wrapping, opening envelopes, affixing tags, rearranging desks) does not qualify. - Substitutions:
- High school graduation or equivalent may substitute for Basic Experience.
- Excess clerical experience may substitute for Basic Experience.
- Completion of a year‑long clerical curriculum leading to a degree or diploma at an accredited community college, business or technical school covering basic English, arithmetic, clerical procedures and office machines will satisfy General Clerical experience requirements.
- Completion of a < 1 year clerical curriculum may substitute for General Experience on a month‑for‑month basis.
- Partial completion of clerical training: one‑half school year of a full‑time clerical curriculum may substitute for six months of General Clerical experience.
- One school year or longer of a full‑time clerical curriculum meeting the required coursework will meet Clerk III level requirements.
- University baccalaureate coursework in English composition and college mathematics may substitute for general clerical work experience up to two years (15 semester credits for six months of experience).
