SALARY RATE: $37,762.00 (Annual Salary) based on the FTE
JOB DUTIES : The function of the Materials Management unit is to coordinate, monitor, disburse, and standardize the procurement of supplies, equipment and services necessary for the operation of the West Hawaii Region; maintain the inventories of supplies and equipment for Kona Community Hospital; account for the payment, disbursements, vouchers and reports of the Materials Management unit to the Fiscal Services Section;
and to negotiate, document and execute contracts for goods and services for the West Hawaii Region.
The primary responsibility of this position is to receive and verify as ordered, all supplies and equipment for the hospital; store supplies for issuance to central supply, all nursing and ancillary units, and administrative sections; and perform other clerical functions required in an intensive store keeping operation. This position may be required to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ARE: Applicants must meet all of the following requirements. Please note that unless specifically indicated; the required education and experiences may not be gained concurrently. In addition, qualifying work experiences are based on a 40‑hour work week.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must possess either experience (paid or unpaid), education, training or any combination thereof which demonstrated the ability to read and understand detailed but routine instructions or procedures; compare words and numbers quickly and accurately and perform mathematical calculations including multiplication and division.
General
Experience:
Six (6) months of work experience which involved a variety of clerical tasks which demonstrated knowledge of arithmetic including multiplication and division; and the ability to follow oral and written instructions, carry out procedures in clerical work systems, speak and write simply and directly, and compare words and numbers quickly and accurately.
Specialized
Experience:
Six (6) months of work experience which involved the performance of clerical work which demonstrated knowledge of store keeping practices, methods and procedures, and inventory record keeping procedures.
License required: Driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Hawaii.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
REQUIRED:
KNOWLEDGE OF: Arithmetic up to and including multiplication of whole numbers.
ABILITY TO: Read and understand detailed but uninvolved instructions and other similar written materials; carry out procedures in established store keeping system; match words and numbers quickly and accurately; perform simple arithmetic calculations; use hand tools in simple unskilled functions; and for some positions, operate a light motor vehicle or learn to operate a forklift and lift and carry moderately heavy weights.
