Civil Engineer IV performs professional engineering work in the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of civil engineering projects.
What You Will DoGeneral duties include but are not limited to:
- Designing structures such as reservoirs, retaining walls, bridges, culverts, tunnels, pipelines, sewers, sidewalks, highways, etc.
- Preparing designs, plans, specifications, estimates, and reports.
- Supervising construction and inspection activities.
- Reviewing and interpreting plans and specifications of buildings and structures.
- Three (3) vacancies with the Honolulu Board of Water Supply, Capital Projects Division, Construction Branch.
- Two (2) vacancies in the Department of Environmental Services, Wastewater Engineering & Construction Division.
- Two (2) vacancies in the Department of Facility Maintenance, Storm Water Quality Division.
- One (1) vacancy in the Department of Transportation Services, Transportation Rail Division.

Minimum Qualification RequirementsAt the time of application, you must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or a non‑citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
Education RequirementEquivalent to graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in an engineering specialty.
Education Verification:

Three years of non‑registered professional civil engineering experience.
License Requirement- Possession of an appropriate valid driver’s license, as required.
- Possession of a valid license as a professional Civil Engineer in the State of Hawaii.
NOTE:
Applicants with a current out‑of‑state professional Civil Engineer license must obtain their Hawaii license prior to appointment.
