Duties Summary
At the advanced trainee level, performs a variety of simple to moderately complex work assignments in recreational therapy; under close supervision, carries out approved therapeutic recreational treatment plans; conducts therapeutic recreational and leisure activities; observes, evaluates, and reports on the condition and progress of patients; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements

Legal Authorization To Work
The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in recreation, physical education, special education, psychology or sociology which included a minimum of twelve (12) semester credit hours in recreation or therapy oriented areas of study; such as, community recreation, physical fitness, gross motor skills, human growth and development, human personality and behavior, and/or abnormal psychology.
Specialized Experience: One (1) year of progressively responsible professional work experience in a recreational therapy program which, along with other therapy programs, provided comprehensive treatment and rehabilitative services to persons with physical, mental, emotional, and developmental disabilities, psychosocial disorders, substance abuse problems, and/or the elderly.
