DescriptionThe Intensive Care Unit provides services with specially trained nursing staff and support resources for patients requiring critical care on a concentrated and continuous basis. The ICU monitors infectious patients, trauma patients, post‑op ICU patients and patients with substance abuse problems and/or conduct disorders of all ages. The Per Diem Nurse coordinates nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with other staff and departments in maintaining standards of nursing care;
follows established policies, procedures or specific instructions. This position may be required to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

SALARY RANGE : BU79 |
SALARY RATE: $59.56 (Hourly) based on the FTE
Minimum Qualification Requirements- Education: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. While not required, graduation from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is highly desirable.
- Experience: One (1) year of progressively responsible professional nursing work experience in an intensive care setting where the employee independently provided nursing care to patients. Such experience must have been gained within the last two (2) years.
- Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Health Care Worker and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required at the time of appointment. Trauma education related to field of practice is required within six (6) months of employment. Critical Care Course (CCRN) preferred, Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred.
- License: Possession of a current license to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Hawaii.
