Location:

Kona Community Hospital – Chemotherapy

Position Status: 0.30 FTE – Temporary

Salary Range: BU79

Salary Rate: $61.52 per hour (based on FTE)

This position is located in the Infusion/Chemotherapy Center, a division of the Cancer Center of Kona Community Hospital, a 94 bed acute care facility on the island of Hawaii. The Center provides oncology services including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, infusion therapies, radiation coordination, survivorship services, and supportive care. The Center administers IV outpatient infusion services and ambulatory nursing care on a referral basis.

The Registered Professional Nurse manages and directs the Center, and may be required to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

• Education:
  
  Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is highly desirable.
• Experience:
  
  One year of professional nursing work experience providing independent care in a clinic, hospital, or institution.
• Certification:
  Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon employment. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required for some positions.
• Licensure:
  Current license to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Hawaii.

  Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position; provide a detailed description of duties and responsibilities, indicating average hours if part-time.
• Citizenship and Residence Requirement:
  Applicants must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible for unrestricted employment and intend to reside in Hawaii during employment.
• Veteran’s Preference:
  Submission of a DD214 and/or other substantiating documents specifying periods of service.

  Physical Requirements:
  
  Must meet health and physical requirements needed to perform essential functions; reasonable accommodations may be considered.
• Medical/Physical Examination Requirement:
  Employment contingent on passing a pre-employment physical examination including drug screening and other regulatory medical requirements such as TB screening; cost for examinations, except drug screening, generally borne by applicant.
• Criminal/Background Checks:
  Applicable checks conducted periodically, costs may be borne by applicant. Checks include criminal history records, child abuse registry, adult protective services registry, sex offender registry, etc. Offer contingent on satisfactory completion.
