Building Construction & Maintenance Supervisor I: $84,648.00(Annual Salary) based on the FTE
Building Construction & Maintenance Supervisor II: $90,072.00 (Annual Salary) based on the FTE
JOB DUTIES :The function of the Facilities and Maintenance Department is to provide continued and safe operation of all utility services. Maintains safe operation of the physical plant and all utilities, equipment, building fixed and portable. Perpetually inspects buildings, equipment, and grounds to determine maintenance and repairs needed; and maintains perpetual job schedules that provide preventive maintenance for all fixed structures and equipment.
The Building Construction & Maintenance Supervisor supervises several Building Construction Workers, Painter and Building Maintenance Helpers, outside Contractors and Skilled Trades people in the maintenance, repair and renovation of buildings and structures throughout Kona Community Hospital and Kona Health, and performs other related duties.
THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ARE: Applicants must meet all of the following requirements. Please note that unless specifically indicated; the required education and experiences may not be gained concurrently. In addition, qualifying work experiences are based on a 40-hour work week.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Experience and Training: (1) Six years of progressively responsible work experience in the maintenance of buildings or structures, of which three years shall have been over other skilled tradesmen, including at least one year in a lead position, and graduation from high school; or (2) any equivalent combination of experience and training.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT: Possession of a valid State of Hawaii driver’s license (Type
3).
KNOWLEDGE OF: Tools, equipment, materials and work practices in the general building trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting work, particularly as related to building maintenance and repair; applicable building, electrical, and fire codes and regulations; principles and practices of supervision.
ABILITY TO: Plan, lay out, assign, and coordinate the work of skilled tradesmen and foremen; inspect the work of tradesmen and detect flaws or defects in workmanship or materials; read and interpret building plans and check repair work for conformance thereto; estimate costs and quantities of labor, materials, and equipment; give clear and concise oral and written instructions; maintain records and make operational reports;
maintain good working relationships with others.
