Position Overview

Kearney Tire & Auto Service – Kearney, NE. Kearney's Hi-Tech Automotive Repair Facility has an opportunity in our service department for an experienced automotive technician.

We are a busy, Certified Blue Seal ASE automotive repair facility located in Kearney, Nebraska since 1979. We offer a clean and organized shop environment with great lighting and state‑of‑the‑art equipment, including electronic tablets, laptops, and PCs to quickly access needed information and supply accurate documentation for our service advisers and customers.

Our goal is to provide customers with a complete solution to their automotive needs by offering professional service, reasonable pricing, and continued support for the life of the vehicles.

• Diagnose vehicles using diagnostic routines, wiring diagrams, electrical system troubleshooting, computer controls, and various module functions and operations.
• Determine root cause of a problem regardless of the system or sub‑system.
• Use a variety of scan tools to identify vehicle issues in a timely manner.
• Communicate written information electronically and by hand to fellow team members.
• Participate in continuing education and adhere to Technician Time Management practices.

• Understanding of diagnostic routines, wiring diagrams, electrical system troubleshooting, computer controls, module functions and operations.
• Proficiency with a variety of scan tools and ability to diagnose vehicles quickly.
• Computer literacy and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain and operate industry‑standard equipment.
• Must obtain and maintain ASE certification.
