Miller & Associates is actively hiring a Construction Resident to join its team in Kearney, NE and play a key role in overseeing critical public and private construction projects.
As the Construction Resident, you will observe and monitor a wide range of public and private projects - including buildings, public works, infrastructure improvements, and utilities - to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, contracts, and agreements. This hands-on role requires travel to job sites to monitor activities, document progress and address any issues that may arise.

Job Responsibilities:
• Examine and oversee daily activity for construction or repair projects
• Perform necessary soil, concrete, masonry, and asphalt testing as needed
• Ensure that federal, state, and local government construction projects comply with contract specifications
• Inspect excavation and fill operations, the placement of forms for concrete, concrete mixing and pouring, asphalt paving, and grading operations
• Maintain daily work log, take photographs, file reports, and act on inspection findings
• Use survey instruments, metering devices, tape measures, concrete and soils test equipment
Job Qualifications:
• High school diploma/GED required; secondary education preferred
• 1+ year of field experience in the construction or civil engineering field
• Familiarity with the construction inspection process
• Valid driver's license required
