About the Position
Description
A healthcare organization in Nebraska is seeking a Locum Otolaryngology (ENT) Physician to provide weekend call coverage at a Level II Trauma Center . This opportunity is ideal for a board-certified ENT specialist comfortable managing emergency consultations and surgical cases related to ear, nose, and throat conditions.
The physician will respond to trauma and emergency department consults and perform required ENT procedures as needed. This role supports continued 24/7 specialty coverage while the organization manages provider transitions.
Responsibilities
Provide 24-hour ENT call coverage for trauma and emergency department consults
Evaluate and manage ear, nose, and throat emergencies
Perform ENT surgical procedures when required
Collaborate with trauma, emergency medicine, anesthesia, and surgical teams
Provide consultation and treatment for patients presenting with ENT conditions
Document patient care using the electronic medical record system
Working Hours
24-hour call coverage shifts
Weekend coverage schedule
Assignment Details
Practice Setting:
Level II Trauma Center
Coverage Type: ENT call coverage for trauma and emergency consults
Estimated Patient Volume:
Approximately 2–4 cases per day
Required Procedures:
Adenoidectomy, audiogram interpretation, tumor or lump removal, tonsillectomy
Support Staff:
Anesthesia team, CRNA, and surgical department support
EMR System:
Epic
Credentialing Timeframe:
Approximately 30–90 days

Expertise in general ENT surgical procedures

Requirements
Qualifications
Board Certified in Otolaryngology – REQUIRED
Active Nebraska medical license or ability to obtain one (Compact license acceptable)
Active DEA license
Clean malpractice and background history preferred
Self-Query NPDB report required (dated within 30 days of submission)
