About the Position
Locum ENT Trauma Call Physician - Kearney, NE
Description
We are seeking a Board-Certified ENT Physician to provide locum trauma call coverage at a Level II Trauma Center in Kearney, Nebraska. This role is primarily weekend-based and supports maintaining the facility’s 24/7 ENT coverage requirements. The opportunity is open to physicians holding any active state license, with willingness to obtain a Nebraska license.
About the Facility
Hospital is a Level II Trauma Center equipped with modern resources and strong specialist support. The hospital uses EPIC EMR and provides full ancillary support, including anesthesia, CRNAs, and an experienced surgery department. ENT coverage is essential to maintaining trauma designation due to recent provider attrition.
Compensation
Pay Rate: $2,200 per 24-hour on-call shift
Malpractice: Covered
Travel Expenses: Reimbursed, including:
Mileage at IRS standard rate
Rental car
Hotel accommodations
Airfare
Job Responsibilities
Provide ENT on-call coverage
Respond to trauma and emergency department consults as requested
Perform required ENT procedures, including:
Adenoidectomy
Tonsillectomy
Audiogram
Lump/tumor removal
Qualifications (Required)
Board Certified in Otolaryngology
Active medical license (any state) and ability to obtain Nebraska License within a few months (compact license accepted)
Active DEA
Clean malpractice history
Availability
NPDB Self-Query Report dated within 30 days of application

2026 Coverage Dates:
July 3 @ 12 PM – July 6 @ 7 AM
September 4 @ 7 AM – September 8 @ 7 AM
December 24 @ 7 AM – December 28 @ 7 AM
Weekend-focused coverage
FTE: 0.33
Skills
Strong clinical judgment in ENT call settings
Comfortable working in a trauma center environment
Effective communication with ED and trauma teams
Familiarity with EPIC EMR preferred
Ability to respond promptly and efficiently to call-back requests
