Job Description
Fall 2025-Spring 2026 semesters with the potential for continued employment in subsequent semesters.
The TCP GA position focuses on providing support to faculty with regard to research, scholarship, instruction, and improvement of the TCP program. Help to build a TCP Handbook for both students and faculty that will identify the mission, vision, and goals of this unique program, aligning it with the mission and vision of the TE Department, COE, UNK, and the NU System.
Help update the undergraduate professional sequence through co-teaching the introductory course and helping those instructors identify areas of improvement. Through this work, the TCP GA will have the opportunity to build upon their research skills, develop curricula, gain higher education teaching experience, and work in a collaborative team to build programming that meets the needs of students in the ever-changing field of education.
Job Duties
* TCP Graduate Assistant. Assist in developing a TCP Student and Faculty Handbook
* Review course materials for TE 837, TE 838, TE 839, and TE 840 (professional sequence)
* Attend TCP meetings as part of the collaborative team
* Research best practices for an online post-baccalaureate initial certification degree program
* Assist in teaching TE 100 to gain experience in higher education curriculum development and pedagogical/andragogical techniques
* Participate in researching, manuscript development, and presentations based on this work (tying in their own area of expertise, if possible)
Required Qualifications
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication (writing and speaking) skills. Demonstrates initiative and follow through. Proficient computer skills. Skills related to searching and summarizing research literature. Must be fully admitted into a graduate program lls related to both collaborative and independent project work that adheres to timelines and due dates.
Preferred Qualifications
Background in education or associated discipline is preferred. Analytical and problem-solving skills would be helpful in this position. Interest in education and UNK programs would be beneficial.
