Job Summary:
The Department of Art and Design at the University of Nebraska, Kearney invites applications for a Lecturer position in Art Education and Foundation Arts to start in Fall 2026. This position is a yearly appointment with teaching and department service responsibilities.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach Art Education, Art Methods, and Art Foundation courses consistent with the candidate’s qualifications. Teaching experience in art education is required. Instructors may also be assigned to teach in areas across the art department that are connected to their experience and interests. We are seeking an artist-educator who will support art and design majors in developing traditional skills while encouraging conceptual and critical thinking throughout their art degree and area of studies.
This position’s other responsibilities include teaching observation and departmental services.
A Master of Art is required with an emphasis in Art Education and a minimum of 2-3 years teaching experience in a college or university setting, as well as an active professional practice and accomplishments.
