Job DescriptionSENIOR PRODUCT DESIGN ENGINEER (Permanent)
Our client, a global manufacturing organization in WNY, is looking to hire a Senior Product Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is a newly created position due to growth.
Responsibilities:- Lead end‑to‑end new product development initiatives, from concept and modeling through prototyping, testing, and final production
- Partner with manufacturing, quality, and cross‑functional engineering teams to ensure designs are practical, cost‑efficient, and ready for production
- Create comprehensive technical specifications, including material selection, tolerances, manufacturing processes, and assembly requirements
- Utilize CAD tools (Solid Works, AutoCAD, or Rhino) to develop 3D product models, technical drawings, and prototypes
- Perform product testing, performance analysis, and validation to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and customer specifications
- Drive design improvements focused on manufacturability, durability, cost optimization, long‑term performance, and environmental sustainability
- Contribute to APQP and continuous improvement efforts, including PFMEA, control plans, and PPAP documentation when applicable
- Review technical designs and mentor junior engineers
- Stay up to date on emerging technologies, materials, and industry best practices in product and manufacturing engineering
- Work well both independently and in a team environment
- Work on several projects at a given time—anywhere from 1-5, depending on complexity
- Other duties as assigned/as necessary
- Position is full-time, direct hire, 1 st shift
- 100% in‑office
- $85,000 - $125,000 annually depending on experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering
- 4+ years’ engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with APQP tools: DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, etc.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organization skills and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Self‑motivated
- Relocation not available
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States;
