Job Description:

The RN in the ICU will provide specialized care for patients with severe and life-threatening illnesses, adhering to unit-specific policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Provide care for patients with trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placements, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress.
• Titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation as required.
• Monitor vital signs and document patient progress using the EPIC charting system.
• Float to PCU and occasionally Med Surg, maintaining typical patient ratios.
• Perform on-site trouble-shooting for RT equipment such as vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow devices.

Requirements:

• Valid RN license and driver's license.
• Certifications:
  
  BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• BSN required.
• Pass a skills exam with at least 90% during orientation.
• Compliance with fingernail policy prohibiting artificial nails.
