Job Summary
We are seeking a Customer Service Representative to support patients in a front‑desk, receptionist‑style healthcare environment. This role focuses on assisting patients with medical equipment (specifically CPAP devices) while providing excellent customer service, insurance support, and scheduling coordination. Candidates with hands‑on patient care with CPAP experience or knowledge is required.
Essential Job Functions- Serve as the first point of contact for patients via inbound and outbound calls
- Support patients with medical equipment orders, scheduling, and general inquiries
- Obtain, analyze, and verify referral and patient information
- Create and process orders for medical equipment as prescribed by physicians
- Educate patients on insurance coverage and financial responsibility
- Accurately document all calls and interactions according to SOPs
- Develop and maintain knowledge of products and services
- Route calls appropriately and follow up when needed
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Perform insurance verification to confirm eligibility, coverage, deductibles, and coinsurance
- Obtain pre‑authorizations when required and submit physician orders for approval
- Customer service experience (call center or office‑based preferred)
- Medical, healthcare, or patient care experience
- CPAP experience required (professional or personal use)
- Office or front‑desk experience
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, phone‑heavy environment
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Hands‑on patient care experience (CNA, MA, DME, or similar roles)
- Experience with insurance verification or prior authorizations
- Durable Medical Equipment (DME) experience
- Healthcare scheduling or EMR system experience
- Onsite, office‑based role
- Receptionist‑style healthcare setting
Schedule:
Monday‑Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Rotating on‑call schedule ($150 flat rate on‑call stipend + hourly pay for time spent handling calls): 1 week every 4 weeks (performed remotely). On‑call coverage includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kearney, NE.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.50/hr.
