Job Summary
Security Advisor provides information security and privacy consulting and compliance services for campus-based organizations. The role is remote, requires minimal supervision, may involve 25‑50% travel, and focuses on gathering and analyzing customer data, performing gap analyses, preparing reports, recommending remediation steps, and supporting sales and marketing efforts.
Responsibilities- Consult onsite and remotely with customers to collect, review, and analyze data related to policies, business practices, network infrastructure, IT systems, and physical security as they relate to compliance requirements.
- Perform gap analyses of current environments, controls, and programs through interviews and physical assessments.
- Review application and service provider requirements to help meet information security and compliance objectives.
- Recommend remediation steps to achieve compliance objectives and assist customers with remediation activities.
- Review customer‑prepared documents and reports, providing feedback and ensuring accuracy or help with preparation of industry‑standard reporting obligations.
- Participate in sales calls as a subject matter expert, attend conferences, and prepare and deliver industry‑related presentations or webcasts.
- Travel as required (25‑50%).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or five years of experience in information security or privacy.
- At least one of the following industry‑recognized certifications: CISSP, CISA, CISM, CIA, or GSNA.
- Understanding of NIST SP 800‑171, NIST CSF, ISO 27000, GLBA, GDPR, PCI DSS, and related frameworks.
- Knowledge of information systems, networks, security concepts, risk assessment, and modern technologies such as networking protocols, cloud computing, virtualization, and cybersecurity principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high‑quality deliverables.
- Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Pay Range: $110,000 – $125,000
