KAAPA is hiring a detail oriented, dependable Instrumentation Programmer based in Kearney who will travel to our Minden, Ravenna, and Aurora locations with a focus on plant reliability.
Job Responsibilities:- Develop and implement programming solutions for instrumentation systems at all company facilities
- Perform preventative and proactive maintenance tasks in a safe and efficient manner
- Perform inspections and adjustments on equipment
- Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to determine project priorities and dispatch requirements
- Ensure all instrumentation programming meets company standards and regulatory requirements
- Learn the plant process for a better understanding of how the equipment is utilized
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to instrumentation programming and other technical problems
- Provide technical support and training to facility personnel as needed
- Other tasks as assigned
- Work in a safe manner at all times
- Assist in identifying safety hazards and/or regulatory compliance problems
- Follow procedures for plant operations and safety
- Must be self-motivated and provide quality work with possible time restrictions
- Monday
- Friday 8am- 4:30pm and must be available for overtime work and/or on a call-in basis as required as the plant is operational 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Post-secondary education and/or technical trade certificate preferred
- Valid driver's license
- Experience with electrical and instrumentation installation, troubleshooting, and repair. Additional experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics desired
- Proven experience in instrumentation programming
- Strong knowledge of relevant programming languages and tools
- Experience in operation of an ethanol plant, manufacturing, and production helpful
- Ability to use and interpret phase testers, multi-meters, and meggers. Operate drill press, grinder, and other metal working equipment desired
- Experience in the repair of equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, airlocks, agitator assembles, piping systems, boiler operations, conveyers, etc. Desired
- Able to write and maintain detailed repair reports and other records
- Basic computer knowledge
- Learn and effectively use Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS)
