Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Technician supports the Quality Team, Production Lines, and others, ensuring consistent production quality standards and good manufacturing practices are enforced. This position validates processes, performs audits, oversees corrective actions and improvements, provides documents, and calibrates gauges and test equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Supports Quality Assurance team and provides reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities.
  • Inspects and audits components and finished goods from receiving through manufacturing.
  • Monitors non-conforming parts to ensure proper disposition and control.
  • Enters quality data into relevant databases and provides quality reports.
  • Assists with data collection for dimensional layouts, capability studies, customer notifications and PPAP submissions.
  • Supports Production Lines and other groups, as appropriate, and provides reports against standards and specifications.
  • Serves as a technical resource for production groups and others, regarding product characteristics and quality requirements.
  • Investigates quality issues to ensure they are addressed and resolved.
  • Acts as liaison between Manufacturing and Support Departments to resolve quality issues.
  • Trains on quality standards and procedures.
  • Manages quality assurance activities as assigned.
  • MRB: verifies, identifies, contains, and disposes non-conforming product.
  • Corrective Actions: verifies, issues, and monitors corrective action requests.
  • Document Control: creates, approves, publishes, reviews, archives, disposes, and stores documents.
  • Calibration: maintains calibration procedures, performs and/or arranges for calibrations, uses gauge software, and performs R&R studies.
  • Other duties.
  • Adheres to all organizational policies, procedures, standards, and practices.
  • Keeps work area neat, clean, organized, and under control.
  • Works in a team environment.
  • Rotates jobs as needed.
  • Is mindful of improving methods and processes in completing assignments.
  • Implements new ideas on approval of supervisor/manager.
  • Other duties, consistent with skills and experience, as directed by Supervisor/Manager.
Qualifications
  • Required:

    High School education. Two years in a manufacturing environment with at least one year in the field of quality assurance or equivalent. Working knowledge in corrective actions and problem solving. Experience at a previous employer may be considered and applied to the experience requirement at the discretion of the Divisional Quality Manager. Any deviations from the above requirements (e.g., substituting more work experience for required education) will be evaluated and approved by the Divisional Quality Manager.
  • Preferred:
    College coursework in business administration, manufacturing technology or related courses. Three years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with at least one year in Quality Assurance.
Competitive Compensation
  • Hourly pay range for this role is $22.84-$26.82.
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program.
