Position Summary
The safety coordinator will work closely with the site and division EHS team assisting with initiatives to ensure that the plant goals align with Parker's WIN Strategy in achieving and maintaining zero incidents. The coordinator communicates daily, weekly, and monthly requirements and expectations within the facility. The coordinator will be involved in most operational safety aspects of all shifts. They will provide valuable feedback to value stream leaders and managers regarding performance of the safety program and engagement of team members within the facility.
Responsibilities- Champion safety program(s) to promote a safety-first culture
- Assist in developing and enforcing safety policies, safe job procedures, checklists, etc.
- Maintain record keeping associated with safety program(s)
- Communicate safety progress with plant leadership
- Perform follow up on Gensuite leading indicators - Concern Reports / ATS / Incidents
- Assist with new hire onboarding program
- Assist with conducting workplace safety training
- Coach team members and provide feedback as needed on safety
- Participate and assist in leading incident investigations and safety audit program
- Participate in Safety Star Point Team meetings and activities
- Participate in EHS-related training as needed to assist with development / growth
- Flexible schedule with all shifts, and as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Minimum high school diploma or G.E.D equivalent required
- 2-4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- OSHA 10/30 hour, or other safety certification preferred
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teambuilding skills
- Action oriented
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent computer skills (typing and Office projects – Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Sets example – supports, commits, and demonstrates Parker's Code of Ethics, policies, and procedures
- Hourly pay range: $22.84 – $26.82
