Summary:

Utilizes forklifts and other handling equipment to move stone slabs and fabricated countertops within the facility to assist with organization and fabrication. Loads and unloads material to assist Jet Saw Operator, CNC Operators and other staff as needed to fulfill fabrication requirements.

• Provide daily support to the Jet Saw Operator, CNC Operator and Quality Control team member to handle and move stone slabs for fabrication.
• Assist in moving the fabricated counter top from production to storage until delivery is scheduled.
• Assist the Inventory Control Specialist with moving and counting stone slabs and other material as needed.
• Help load countertops for delivery installation.
• Organizes each load in a safety-oriented manner.
• Safely operates and inspects forklifts and other equipment in accordance with safety regulations.
• Maintains housekeeping of the facility.
• Maintains and promotes a safe working environment and follows all safety rules.
• May be directed to work in other fabrication areas or assist on installs as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

NOTE:

These are the essential, but not limited, functions of the Stone Material Handler position. Management has the discretion to add to or change the duties/responsibilities to be performed by this position.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.

Prior forklift experience is helpful but not required.

• Ability to follow and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Ability to read a tape measure – for accurate measuring and cutting purposes.
• Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques.
• Must be very observant and detail oriented.
• Ability to use table saw, router, air gun, power tools, tape measure, etc as needed for position.
• Ability to communicate with employees and managers using verbal and written skills.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Regularly lift/carry/move up to 50 lbs. Occasionally lift/carry/move 100 lbs. for moderate distances.
• Must be able to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stoop, and squat.

No supervisory responsibility with his position.

Work inside and outside in temperatures ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold as needed to move material.
