CLASS Act Administrator Position
The Administrator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the CLASS Act organization according to the strategic direction established by the Board of Directors. This position works collaboratively with Board Members, volunteers, donors, sponsors, school staff, and community partners to support the mission and activities of CLASS Act.
Professional Qualifications- Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Prior experience in management, administrative, nonprofit, or event coordination preferred.
- Relevant experience in marketing and social media required.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including public speaking.
- Budget management skills; including proficiency with financial management systems preferred.
- Strong computer skills; including word processing, email, internet, and social media.
- Ability to collaborate with and motivate Board Members and volunteers.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
- Participate with the Board of Directors in developing strategic goals and organizational priorities.
- Communicate effectively with the Board and provide timely and accurate information necessary for informed decision-making.
- Serve as a representative of CLASS Act within the community.
- Prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ensure the operation of the organization meets the expectations of the Board, donors, volunteers, and KPS staff and administration.
- Prioritize and administer decisions made by the Board in a manner that reflects the organization's mission and goals.
- Effectively oversee day-to-day operations of the organization.
- Maintain confidentiality of records for donors, volunteers, grant recipients, and Board Members.
- Provide support to the Board by preparing meeting agendas, supporting materials, and organizational communications.
- Maintain organizational records and files.
- Coordinates logistics for events including, but not limited to annual fundraising event and teacher grant distribution.
- Work collaboratively with Board committees, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and community partners.
- Assist with organizational communication efforts including social media, promotional materials, press releases, and donor communications.
- Solicits feedback and communicates with a variety of KPS and community stakeholders.
- Support community engagement and fundraising activities as appropriate.
- Work with the Board and KPS Foundation to prepare and review an annual budget.
- Assist the Board in securing adequate funding for annual events.
- Coordinates and participates in fundraising activities as appropriate.
- Administer the funds of the organization according to the approved budget.
- Monitor monthly cash flow and maintain accurate financial records.
- Provide the Board with regular reports regarding budget, revenues, and expenditures.
- Monitors and tracks all contracts on behalf of the Board.
- Ensure sound bookkeeping and accounting procedures are followed.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Board of Directors
Special Demands:
The Administrator will work a standard 0.5 FTE schedule; however, evening and weekend hours may be required to accommodate Board meetings, fundraising events, and other organization activities. Workload may vary during fundraising and event planning periods.
