Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts — Day: 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM;
Night: 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM. Schedule varies (self-scheduling for core staff; travelers are added in). Every-other weekend required; minimum of 2 holidays during the contract. Guaranteed 36 hours/week; 12-hour orientation shift required.

• Provide expert, compassionate care to critically ill adult patients in a 33-bed ICU
• Assess, monitor and interpret telemetry/ECG strips and document findings in EPIC
• Titrate and manage cardiac, insulin and sedation drips safely and accurately
• Troubleshoot respiratory equipment and collaborate with RTs on ventilator needs
• Respond effectively to trauma, stroke and cardiac emergencies as part of the team
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to create and execute patient-centered plans
• Complete required unit orientation and pass competency assessments to ensure safe practice
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and follow hospital policies (including infection control and nail policy)

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS certification required
• Proven experience with EPIC charting and telemetry/monitor interpretation
• Comfort and competence titrating drips (cardiac, insulin, sedation)
• Valid driver’s license at time of submittal (used to verify candidate is within 50-mile radius)
• Willingness to complete orientation testing (open-book skills exam; 90% required to pass)
• Able to meet holiday and weekend requirements for the contract
• Not eligible if currently full-time, part-time, or PRN with any Common Spirit facility (including CHI/Dignity)

• Active RN license (state of practice) — required

• Critical care nursing principles and adult ICU best practices
• Telemetry and ECG interpretation
• EPIC electronic health record proficiency
• Titration and management of vasoactive, insulin and sedation drips
• Trauma and cardiac care familiarity
• Ventilator troubleshooting basics and collaboration with respiratory therapy
• Strong assessment, prioritization and clinical decision-making skills
• Clear communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
