Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Kearney, Nebraska.

Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with Common Spirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
** Fingernail policy:
Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract
** Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.**
* * RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Wednesdays during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated *
* * Will not approve blocked scheduling unless its weekends only, I can ask. Will not take a duo who needs to share care or needs same schedule. Department: PCU
* Certifications
Required:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* ** need to be competent in Arterial Lines - Beds: 40 beds with average daily census of 24 - Ratios: 1:4-5 both days and nights - Common diagnoses/Types of patients:
Adults ,Cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, renal failure - Are RNs required to titrate drips?:
Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips:
Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, insulin - s there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?:
Yes - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?:
Yes, 1:12 - RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?:
High flow - Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: RNs must read and interpret - Shifts & Scheduling: , / - Weekend Requirements:
Every other - Holiday Requirements: minimum of 2 holidays that fall within contract time frame - Floating Requirements:
Yes to Med Surg or to ICU to take PCU acuity patients - Scrub Color/Dress code:
