RN: Med​/Surg

Job Description:

Step into a travel healthcare contract in Kearney, Nebraska with a Med Surg / Ortho focus supporting orthopedic surgeries and related care activities. In this role, you’ll work within a Med Surg / Ortho unit handling common case types such as total knee replacements, total hip replacements, ankle replacements, total shoulders, and spine (back and neck) cases. You’ll be part of a team where a Charge Nurse is on each shift and takes an assignment, and you’ll collaborate closely with nurse aids/patient care techs (typically staffed at 1:13) alongside tele support that reads and interprets monitoring strips.

This assignment runs on a clear schedule structure with a rotating night block—12 hour nights—so you can plan your work week with confidence.

During orientation, you’ll complete required competencies, including a pass/fail phlebotomy RN exam on Friday. You’ll also complete an open-book skills assessment using the resources provided, with a required score of 90% to pass. If placed on call and called back, you’ll have 30 minutes to arrive. A current BLS certification is required at time of submission. Please note artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care;

refusal to remove will end the contract.
