School Nurse Coordinator

This role may be structured as a blended position, combining administrative coordination duties with direct school nursing responsibilities based on district needs and candidate experience.

ESU 8 is seeking a School Nurse Coordinator to provide visionary leadership and administrative oversight for our comprehensive school nursing department.

• Program Leadership & Oversight:
  Supervise and evaluate school nursing staff; develop and implement standardized health policies and procedures across all district buildings.
• Compliance & Regulatory Management:
  Ensure adherence to Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) regulations, DHHS health mandates, and Rule 59 protocols.
• Training & Professional Development:
  Coordinate district-wide training and professional development for staff.
• Data Analysis & Reporting:
  Oversee the management of student health databases; compile and submit state-mandated reports regarding immunizations, screenings, and health office utilization.
• Community & Medical Liaison:
  Serve as the primary point of contact for local health departments, medical providers, and state agencies to facilitate community-wide health initiatives.
• Resource Management:
  Manage the nursing department budget, oversee the procurement of supplies, and ensure the maintenance of AEDs and other emergency equipment district-wide.

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Nebraska.

• BSN or higher; 3-5 years of experience in school nursing or public health.

• Strong leadership and proficiency in health record management.
