Role Overview

The Inpatient Services RN CAP 1 is an entry-level registered nurse responsible for delivering and coordinating clinically competent care for assigned patients.

Assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, with delegation of tasks to care staff as appropriate. The role involves participating in decision‑making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes.

• Perform patient data collection and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Provide patient and family education on care needs.
• Assess patient status and collaborate with the healthcare team for optimal care.
• Administer medications, monitor responses, and manage intradialytic transfusions.
• Ensure safe patient care during prescribed procedures and emergency situations.
• Support staff training, orientation, and may provide specialized nursing instruction.
• Assist in outpatient settings and meet CAP requirements for advancement.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with current licensure.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Minimum 9 months RN experience, with preferred dialysis or ICU background.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.

Roles may include supervision of care staff after training and experience. Physical demands involve patient handling and equipment movement. The environment is a healthcare facility with exposure to infectious materials. The position may require travel, on‑call duties, and participation in training and meetings.
