Description:
The position is for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse.
The nurse will work 12-hour night shifts from 1800 to 0600.Occasional swing shifts from 1000 to 2200 may be required.
The nurse will be expected to work every other to every third weekend.
The typical patient populations include cardiac cases and those participating in a tele-stroke program.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4.The emergency room has 2 triage areas, 5 treatment areas, and 1 trauma bay.
There are no psych or seclusion rooms within the unit.
The average daily patient load is approximately 20, with increased volume during flu season.
The emergency room has a charge nurse and nurse aides on each shift.
Both lab technicians and registered nurses will draw labs.
Registered nurses are required to have strong intravenous skills.
Rapid response teams and physicians are available 24/7.Pharmacy and security services are also available around the clock.
Floating to med-surg units is not typical, but may occur if necessary.
Electronic medical records are managed through EPIC.
