Job DescriptionThis role is responsible for arranging, conducting, and maintaining documentation for drug screenings, collecting and disposing of urine specimens, maintaining records, inventory and test equipment, testifying in court, and providing training on documentation procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Greets clients, collects testing forms and accompanies to drug testing area.
- Conduct drug screening in accordance with established protocols using approved testing methodologies.
- Obtain urine specimen from probationers, record, and report results.
- Store testing samples in secure location and ensure chain‑of‑custody procedures are observed.
- Maintain testing supplies and equipment inventory.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.
- Maintain documentation procedures in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Provide training on testing result documentation.
- Minimum Qualification:
High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education. - Preferred Qualifications:
Prior substance abuse or chemical testing training and experience working with offender populations. - Only female candidates are considered for this position.
- Knowledge:
Drug screening and chemical testing methodology; safe work methods and procedures; applicable testing equipment; record‑keeping principles; basic inventory management principles; computers and related software applications. - Skills:
Performing drug screening and collecting applicable samples; maintaining specimen records; monitoring inventory and supply levels; maintaining operational records; using computers and related software applications; utilizing communication and interpersonal skills with coworkers, supervisors, the general public and others. - Physical requirements may include exposure to fumes, odors, hazardous materials, and handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally or 10 pounds frequently; requires use of arm and/or leg controls.
