Job Description Qualifications- Education:
Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalency preferred. - Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Nebraska CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements.
- Must possess a good driving record.
- Must have a positive attitude and be teamwork oriented.
- Saturdays and Sunday availability helpful but not required.
- Must be physically able to respond to emergency situations that could potentially occur while driving.
- Must be dependable and reliable.
- Must be able to interact professionally and calmly with students and families.
- Drives routes at regularly assigned times.
- Ensures the safety of students by maintaining a safe environment on the bus and monitoring the safety of bus stop locations.
- Reports to the bus barn 30 minutes before assigned departure times to complete pre-trip safety inspections of the bus and/or small vehicle.
- Understands and follows all rules and regulations for bussing as set forth by the State of Nebraska and the Board of Education.
- Keeps the interior of the bus clean.
- Monitors safety supplies in and on all special education vehicles.

- Insurance card and registration
- Ensures that only registered and approved students and staff ride in the vehicle.
- Informs the Transportation Director of any accidents or traffic violations immediately.
- Exercises sound judgment and maintains good public relations with parents, students, and staff.
- Accepts responsibility.
- Proficient in written and oral communication.
- Works well with children and adults.
