Overview
Under general supervision, provide customer service and ground support to arriving and departing aircraft at the Kearney Regional Airport. Assist with airport grounds maintenance and snow removal. Work varies, allowing reasonable discretion and independent action.
Essential Functions- Provide a variety of aircraft services including marshaling, fueling, hangar storage, towing, wing walking, and other ground support.
- Handle aviation fuels, maintain quality control, and keep applicable records.
- Coordinate and direct ramp movements for arriving and departing aircraft.
- Operate, maintain and service ground service equipment such as tugs, fuel trucks, ground power units, oxygen fill systems, mowers, and snow plows.
- Greet pilots, passengers and crew members, providing proactive, personalized service to private and business aviation clientele.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation that includes evenings and weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions (Daily)- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, officials, and the public.
- Maintain regular, timely attendance.
- Safely operate equipment.
- Apply and maintain knowledge of current methods, equipment, materials, and tools to perform quality assurance on aviation fuels from acceptance of delivery to dispensing into aircraft.
- Complete assigned tasks properly and efficiently.
Moderate: exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly. Requires climbing aboard aircraft, balancing, walking, stooping/bending, standing about 60% of the time, frequent reaching, adequate vision, color vision, hearing, speech, eye/hand/foot coordination, and manual dexterity.
Environmental DemandsWork occurs inside and outside. Adverse conditions may include cold, heat, wet, dry, heavy airplane noise, traffic safety, dump areas, exposure to fumes/dust, and minimum exposure to infectious diseases.
Mental Requirements- Read and comprehend written material.
- Listen to and apply information and instructions.
- Understand basic arithmetic concepts.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must obtain employer‑provided Aviation Fuel Handling training within first week and 14 CFR Part 139 Fire Training Certificate within first month.
- Basic aviation knowledge and prior customer service experience preferred.
- Valid Nebraska driver’s license.
- Thirty‑minute response time to the assigned work site by the most direct route within posted speed limits.
- Refueling trucks, tugs, ground power units, lavatory carts, aviation oxygen systems, tractors, fuel quality assurance kits, air compressors, and other hand and power tools.
