About the Role:

The Van Driver/Maintenance Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring upkeep and maintenance of company vehicles and facilities. This position requires a dependable individual who can safely operate a van to transport residents to appointments on schedule across various locations within the Kearney community. In addition to driving duties, the role involves assisting with routine maintenance tasks, helping to identify and report any vehicle or equipment issues to prevent downtime.

The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment, supporting the overall operational efficiency of the company. This multifaceted role demands a proactive approach to both transportation and maintenance responsibilities, ensuring seamless daily operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record appropriate for operating company vans.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift and carry moderate weights safely (up to 50 lbs).
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability in following schedules and instructions.
• Flexible in schedule to allow on call during the evening hours and some weekends/holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a driver or maintenance assistant in a similar role.
• Familiarity with basic mechanical tools and equipment.
• Certification in vehicle maintenance or safety training.
• Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members, supervisors, residents and families.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate company vans to transport residents to designated locations following scheduled routes and timelines.
• Assist with routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and cleanliness to ensure vehicles remain in good working condition.
• Support maintenance staff with general upkeep duties including minor repairs, cleaning, and organizing tools and equipment.
• Report any mechanical issues, damages, or safety concerns promptly to the maintenance supervisor to facilitate timely repairs.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and maintenance reports in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company protocols to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate deliveries and maintenance schedules effectively.
• On call evenings and some weekends for van driving and maintenance as needed
