Assistant Public Works Superintendent - Kearny Town.

The Town is seeking an Assistant Public Works Superintendent to assist in the administration and supervision of the Department of Public Works. The successful candidate will assist in planning and coordinating the construction, maintenance, and repair of public works facilities; supervising personnel and work assignments; preparing budgets and specifications; and ensuring safe and efficient department operations. Requirements:

• Four (4) years of supervisory experience in the construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, sewer, water, sanitation, or other public works facilities, or in similar heavy construction and maintenance work. College-level engineering coursework at an accredited college or university may substitute for up to two (2) years of experience, with thirty (30) semester-hour credits equivalent to one (1) year of experience.
• Certified Public Works Manager (CPWM) certification.
• Valid driver’s license recognized in New Jersey.
• Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), or willingness to obtain one within the first year of employment.
• Availability for emergency work, including road damage, snow, wind and ice storms, floods, and other emergencies, as directed by the Superintendent.

The successful candidate will have an excellent opportunity to advance to Public Works Superintendent within the first year of employment.

This position is Full-time, 40 hours a week, with PERS pension and Medical and Dental benefit package.

Full-time Salary range is $86,115 – $96,700, negotiable based on experience.
