School Counselor Position
Qualifications:
NJ School Counselor or NJ School Social Worker Certification
Experience working with various at-promise/diverse population
Interest in working to meet the diverse learning needs of all children
Ability to serve as an advocate for individuals of all backgrounds
Support student achievement in English Language Arts
Support with student attendance and tardiness
Extra duties as assigned by the building Principal
This position is for the 2026-27 school year only and is dependent on the receipt of Title I funding
All alternate route candidates ("Certificate of Eligibility) must show completion of 50 hours of pre-service training through a DOE approved CE educator program prior to being interviewed for a position. The certificate of completion must be uploaded into the Appli Track portal in order for alternate route candidates to be considered.

In accordance with S-414/A-3188, school districts, charter schools, nonpublic schools, and contracted service providers ("employers") are required to review the last twenty years of employment history of prospective employees to ascertain allegations of child abuse or sexual misconduct. It explicitly prohibits such employers from hiring a person serving in a position which involves regular contact with students unless the employer conducts a review of the employment history of the applicant by contacting former and current employers and requesting information regarding child abuse and sexual misconduct allegations.
