The Focused Improvement Coordinator is an hourly position reporting to the Technical Leader. The F.I. Coordinator assists with the coordination of plant Focused Improvement initiatives focused on sustained improvement of plant operations through TPM methodologies and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Focused Improvement Efforts
  • Act as subject matter expert for Lean Principles & TPM Methodologies
  • Train & coach facility staff on use of Focused Improvement tools & methods
  • Lead Focused Improvement Teams/Kaizen events to improve or eliminate recurring problems
  • Update metrics, reports, and project statuses as required
  • Support the implementation of FI methodologies and participate in TPM pillar teams
  • Facilitate focused improvement meetings: root cause investigation, break‑down analysis, Kaizen events, 5S, waste elimination, visual factory, Six Sigma projects and similar processes
  • Provide training sessions and coach team members on TPM tools and techniques (flexible schedule for 24/7 operation)
  • Attend trainings to improve skills and expertise
  • Apply analytical tools to identify & track improvement opportunities
  • Develop event charters, solicit participation, and coordinate logistics for events
  • Follow up on open action items to implement opportunities and close projects
  • Collaborate with other facilities & regional supports to identify improvement opportunities
  • Use statistical metrics and data collection techniques to determine project opportunities and improvements
  • Audit completed projects to ensure sustainment and develop monitoring systems
  • Submit notifications of safety and equipment problems into SAP or other designated systems and ensure timely follow‑up of resolutions
  • Participate in layered process audits and provide feedback to process owners
  • Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor
  • Maintain communications with other TPM locations and facilities to share best practices
  • Establish and meet personal goals that support TPM & plant goals
Skills and Abilities
  • Self‑starter with ability to develop strategies aligned with business vision
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Strong customer service skills (internal & external)
  • Teamwork orientation
  • Basic mathematical calculation skills
  • PC operational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Presentation and facilitation skills
  • Valid unrestrictive driver’s license
Computer and Software Competencies
  • Operate a computer or other keyboard instrument
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Minitab (preferred)
Education and/or Experience
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree (preferred)
  • Green Belt Six Sigma (preferred)
  • Related experience and/or training in an industrial environment (preferred)
  • Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States (required)
  • Must be 18 years or older (required)
  • Must be drug and alcohol free (required) Essential

    • Ability to work off shifts occasionally
    • Exposure to hot/cold temperatures continuously
    • Exposure to noise continuously
    • Lift, carry, or move up to 15 pounds
