REPORTS TO:

Director of School Based Youth Services Program or designee

DESCRIPTION:

The candidate for this position will primarily be responsible for a combination of clinical, educational, communication, and organizational skills to support student mental health. This position requires short term individual counseling, group counseling, social skill development, employment counseling, and community referrals to social services. In addition, the candidate must provide appropriate documentation of all services provided to students and families in accordance with DCF's School Based Youth Services Programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Must possess NJDOE School Social Worker certification #3200

* Must possess LAC, LSW, LPC, LCSW, or licensing equivalent

* Demonstrates ability to collect and analyze data to provide evidenced based therapeutic treatments and interventions

* Utilize active listening and empathy

* Solution-focused and strengths-based counseling approaches/theories

* Trauma-informed care practices

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Facilitate psycho educational groups, such as social emotional learning and evidence-based programs

* Collaborate with and build positive relationships with students, families, and school staff

* Collaborate with teachers, administrators, school counselors and community providers

* Maintain confidentiality while communicating effectively with stakeholders

* Knowledge of mandated reporting requirements and ethical standards

* Experience supporting students from varying socioeconomic, cultural and linguistic backgrounds

* Prior clinical experience with providing therapeutic services to students and/or families preferred

* Spanish speaking preferred, but not required

REMUNERATION:

The salary will be in accordance with the current KEA contract.
