Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site Staff Accountant role based in Keene, NH. The Staff Accountant will manage daily bookkeeping activities, including recording transactions, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, and maintaining the general ledger for multiple clients. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, and assisting with payroll processing and related filings. The role also involves supporting month‑end and year‑end close, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and maintaining organized documentation and audit‑ready records.

The Staff Accountant will collaborate with team members and clients, respond to inquiries, and provide clear financial information that supports informed decision‑making.

Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in accounting principles, including experience with general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books Online and Desktop), Microsoft Excel, and other common office productivity tools.
  • Experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes for multiple clients or entities.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage deadlines in a client‑focused environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team, demonstrating professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience in public accounting, outsourced bookkeeping, or working with small businesses and nonprofits is preferred.
