This position will oversee the administration of private scholarships, including awarding, invoicing, and reporting and is responsible for the student refunding process, cashiering, and non-student AR log entries. The SFS Coordinator discusses and analyzes students’ financial circumstances and uses expertise and judgment to determine the appropriate courses of action. The position is part of a team that provides customer service to students and families via in-person, or online meetings, and responds to phone calls and emails and will apply broad-based knowledge of Federal financial aid regulations encompassing completion of FAFSA and loan applications.
Participation in admissions events is expected.
- Oversee and administer all outside/private scholarships including awarding, invoicing, scanning, cashiering, and reporting, and serve as the main office contact to assist students and families.
- Advise students and families on billing and financial aid matters via phones, email, and in-person appointments, in addition to participating in presentations and question/answer sessions.
- Discuss and analyze students’ financial circumstances using expertise and judgment to determine the appropriate courses of action for students and families to take as appropriate to prevent financial holds.
- Serve as the backup for processing private educational loans.
- Responsible for the student refund process, manage all non‑student AR log entries and cashiering.
- Provide courteous, accurate and efficient customer service.
- Communicate with students and families for problem resolution, review students’ accounts for proactive outreach, update student records as required.
- Identify ways to improve practices, processes, and services within the department.
- Support office with in‑person and online meetings, telephone and emails to students and parents.
- Collaborate with other departments to receive and share relevant information as needed to ensure the overall success of the students.
- Represent SFS in admissions events such as open house, admitted student days, and orientation.
- Maintain knowledge of Title IV programs and regulations through webinars and training as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent and four years of related experience involving progressively responsible duties requiring a high level of independent judgment and discretion, or Associate Degree and two years of related experience, or any combination of higher education and related experience equal to four years.

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the general public
- Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
- Experience involving progressively responsible duties requiring a high level of independent judgment and discretion
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office systems, including Word, Excel as well as relational databases.
- 1‑3 years’ experience working in either a financial aid or student accounts office at a post‑secondary institution
- Ability to understand and interpret financial aid procedures and financial aid packaging philosophy to assist students and families throughout the process
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Knowledge of federal, USNH, KSC and Financial Aid policies and the ability to explain them.
