Ashuelot Valley Academy (AVA), part of Mount Prospect Academy, serves students in grades 5–12 who thrive in a non‑traditional academic setting. We provide competency‑based instruction and therapeutic support to help students succeed academically and socially. We welcome retired public school Special Education teachers—this role will not impact your retirement benefits.

• Teach and manage academic programs for students with IEPs
• Develop engaging lesson plans aligned with IEP goals
• Use project‑based learning and innovative strategies
• Assess student progress and provide quarterly updates
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
• Supervise teaching assistants and support curriculum development

• Bachelor’s Degree and Special Education New Hampshire Teaching License (or enrolled in certification program)
• Experience teaching middle/high school students and working with emotional or behavioral challenges
• At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
• Bachelor degree preferred
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
