Adjunct Faculty - Construction Management

Overview

USNH Employees should apply within Workday through the Jobs Hub app. The Construction Management program, housed within the Department of Safety and Construction Sciences at Keene State College, integrates expertise from the Safety, Business, and Architecture programs. Established in Fall 2020, it has grown quickly from three students to nearly one hundred and focuses on professional knowledge, critical thinking, and problem‑solving aligned with the college’s commitment to applied learning and student success.

• Teaching (80%) – Teach undergraduate courses and develop curriculum content focused on construction management and applied learning. Design, deliver, and assess courses that integrate real‑world industry practices, critical thinking, and problem‑solving. Create instructional materials and experiential learning activities aligned with Keene State College’s learning outcomes and accreditation standards. Courses may include CMGT 330 – Prevention through Design, CMGT 300 – Construction Practices 1, CMGT 400 – Construction practices 2;
  
  SAFE 205 – Construction Methods.
• Student Support (20%) – Provide student support through regular office hours and individualized mentoring. Offer guidance on coursework, internships, and professional development. Support student success through timely feedback and accessibility outside of class.

• Education & Experience – Master’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field required at time of appointment. At least 2 years of professional, applied experience outside academia, demonstrating effective application of construction management principles in practice settings. Minimum 1 year of teaching experience, which may include high school, college‑level, or workplace training environments. Experience should encompass course planning, delivery, management of classroom or virtual settings, assessment of teaching, and continuous improvement practices.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities – Demonstrated expertise in key areas such as Estimating, Plan Reading/Building Information Modeling (BIM), Commercial Construction, and Scheduling.
• Preferred Qualifications – Preference may be given to candidates who possess board‑certified designations and to those who maintain their status as an engineer.

Pay Range: $800 per credit, or $840 per credit for those with terminal degrees. This is the standard unless a different rate has already been negotiated and approved by the dean.
