The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Construction has full-time vacancies for Engineering Technician I - III positions.

ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN I:

To perform semi-professional engineering audit procedures on project records and documents related to engineering projects for the Department’s Construction Bureau, working under the direct supervision of higher-level technicians and engineers.

ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN II
:

To perform semi-professional technical engineering audit procedures required to analyze and determine final contract quantities related to engineering projects for the Department’s Construction Bureau.

ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN III
:

To perform and assist in monitoring semi-professional technical engineering procedures required to analyze and determine final quantities related to engineering projects for the Department’s Construction Bureau.

Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

Education: High school diploma or high school equivalency credential.

Experience: Two years of experience as an Engineering Aide, one year of which shall have been at a level equivalent to Engineering Aide II.

OR

Education: Associate's degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in engineering, landscape, architecture, forestry, horticulture, environmental studies, agronomy, geology, soil science or earth science.

Experience: No experience required.

License/Certification: Valid driver's license.

Other Requirements: Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards as established by the hiring agency.

Trainee Option: Candidates with an equivalent combination of 1+ years of relevant education and experience after completion of high school may be considered and hired in ‘trainee status’ for this position.

3). For promotion from the 17-3020 Engineering Technologists and Technicians, except Drafters-2 job title to the 17-3020 Engineering Technologists and Technicians, except Drafters-3 job title, the eligibility requirements in Personnel Rule 303.08 Broad Group Level Advancement must be satisfied.

Education:

High school diploma or high school equivalency credential.

Experience:

Three years of experience as an Engineering Aide or Engineering Technician, at least one year of which shall have been at a level equivalent to Engineering Technician I.

OR

Education:

Associate's degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in engineering, landscape, architecture, forestry, horticulture, environmental studies, agronomy, geology, soil science or earth science.

Experience:

One year of experience at a level equivalent to Engineering Technician I.

License/Certification:
Valid driver’s license.
