Overview
Receptionist — Position #10995. The starting pay range is $17.81/hour to $19.23/hour. A Trainee Status is available at $17.19 per hour. The Department of Labor, Administration Division, located at 95 Pleasant Street, Concord, NH 03301, has a full-time vacancy for a receptionist.

Experience in a public-facing customer service role preferred. Experience with phone call management and communication preferred.

Responsibilities- Research and respond to correspondence, phone requests, or in-person visits from department staff, general public, and insurance carriers regarding the provisions of the law and administrative rules that relate to workers’ compensation insurance or wage and hour law.
- Use data management systems to request coverage, confirm coverage changes, and correct inconsistencies and errors on filed documents from employers, workers’ compensation insurance carriers, or wage and hour documentation to ensure compliance.
- Notify employers of non-compliance with workers’ compensation and wage and hour laws and rules.
- Schedule meetings and/or formal coverage hearings with employers, to be held at the Department of Labor, to explain obligations and interpret workers’ compensation and wage and hour laws and rules.
- Research, explain, and present information regarding employers’ workers’ compensation and wage and hour obligations.
- Calculate fines and assess civil penalties against employers and insurance companies for violation of workers’ compensation coverage and wage and hour laws, follow up on overdue invoice payments, assist business office and process invoices.
- Maintain and update records related to the various correspondence, email, phone calls, or in-person visits received from and sent to the public, employers, and insurance carriers in the database management system and document organization program.
- Review, verify, and process information from the public to determine eligibility for agency services.
- Supervise, train and update staff on new policies, procedures, assign projects, and reject unsatisfactory work relating to processing paper correspondence.
- Work closely with the Information Technology staff to develop and test new programs as system changes are made.
