The Spanish Language Translator & Tutor will provide accurate Spanish–English translation and deliver engaging Spanish language instruction to individuals and small groups. Instruction will be specific to earning Hiset High School Equivalency and job preparation skills. This role combines language expertise with teaching and community engagement to support educational programs, outreach, and communication.
Key Responsibilities Translation & Interpretation- Translate written materials between English and Spanish (e.g., program materials, flyers, emails, forms).
- Provide oral interpretation for classes, workshops, meetings, and community events as needed.
- Ensure translations are accurate, culturally appropriate, and accessible.
- Provide Spanish language tutoring to learners of varying ages and proficiency levels.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Track student progress and provide feedback.
- Work closely with staff, instructors, and community partners to support program delivery.
- Assist with outreach to Spanish-speaking communities when needed.
- Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English.
- Experience in translation, interpretation, tutoring, or teaching.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Cultural competence and sensitivity when working with diverse populations.
- Reliability, professionalism, and strong organizational skills.
- Certification or coursework in translation, interpretation, education, or linguistics.
- Experience working in community education, adult education, or nonprofit settings.
- Familiarity with educational technology or online tutoring platforms.
- Flexible schedule; hours vary based on program needs.
- Compensation: $20.00/hour, commensurate with experience.
