Weekend Night ShiftFriday, Saturday, and Sunday, 4:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
Purpose of this PositionAssemble and test optical systems and sub‑assemblies to precise specifications. Prototype work with some supervision; production jobs require more in‑depth skills. Jobs are performed in an Assembly Department or Clean Room where accuracy is critical and failure to follow proper technique may not be immediately apparent.
Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare components and assemble them into housings without supervision, including painting, alodine, priming, and cleaning of non‑optical surfaces.
- Assemble components per routers, drawings, and written procedures.
- Align systems to meet specifications.
- Conduct in‑process testing (basic interferometry and open optical testing).
- Document processing and final testing per requirements under some supervision.
- Prepare assemblies for shipment to customer, reviewed by a supervisor or Technical Level III.
- Capable of solving routine production problems as they arise.
- Independent problem solving with awareness of when assistance is needed.
- Set up basic optical testing and perform tests without supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility with changing work demands.
- Attention to detail and quality is paramount; flexibility to meet required deadlines.
- DMAIC yellow belt training preferred.
- Class 10,000 cleanroom most of the time;
Class 1,000 cleanroom in special cases. - Lifting of materials ranging from light to medium weight from floor level to approximately 2 feet above bench height.
- Occasional heavy lifting with assistance.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1–2 years industrial experience.
- Blueprint reading skills.
- Math skills include algebra and basic trigonometry.
Pay – $22.00 to $28.50 hourly, dependent on factors such as location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
