Immediate need for an Operations Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations for a precision aerospace and defense manufacturer. This role is responsible for delivering world-class performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, lead time, and employee development. You will translate business objectives into clear operational priorities, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and lead cross-functional teams to achieve business plan targets. EssentialJob Duties:
- Lead the precision bearing manufacturing operation to meet or exceed business plan objectives for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and lead time.
- Drive alignment by clearly communicating strategy, goals, and tactical execution plans across all levels of the organization.
- Manage production schedules to ensure on-time delivery and high first-pass yield performance.
- Ensure accurate and timely production reporting, including maintenance of master data (rates, routings, setup times, utilization, scrap).
- Partner with Materials Management to optimize raw material flow and component availability to support demand.
- Oversee machining, heat treat, grinding, finishing, assembly, and shipping operations to improve throughput and operational flow.
- Monitor scrap, repair, and non‑conformance costs; lead initiatives to reduce waste and cost of poor quality.
- Develop and execute workforce development programs focused on coaching, training, and capability building.
- Identify and lead Lean initiatives to reduce variability, improve process capability, and drive operational excellence.
- Achieve or exceed KPIs related to customer satisfaction, quality performance, productivity, and cost control.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience within a complex production environment.
- Strong leadership, decision‑making, and team development capabilities.
- Experience with SAP, MRP, or ERP systems; strong analytical and computer proficiency.
- Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and develop frontline supervisors and operations leaders.
