Overview
We’re partnering with an established, profitable ecommerce brand to hire a Head of Marketing
. This role works directly with ownership to own and run the full marketing function
, with a strong focus on paid acquisition, performance, and long-term brand growth.
- Full ownership of marketing for a high-consideration ecommerce business
- Direct partnership with the business owner
- Meaningful paid media budget already in place
- Opportunity to shape how marketing is run and scaled over time
- Real influence, responsibility, and upside
This is a hands-on leadership role
, not a narrow channel position.
- Serve as the primary owner of marketing strategy and performance
- Set priorities across acquisition, lifecycle, and brand initiatives
- Establish goals, structure, and reporting across marketing efforts
- Own overall performance of a seven-figure annual paid media budget
- Oversee agency partners across paid search, paid social, SEO, email, and content
- Evaluate channel mix, spend allocation, and efficiency
- Use performance data to guide decisions and growth planning
- Paid search is the most critical channel and a key area of focus
- Act as the senior internal point of contact for external partners
- Improve focus, accountability, and ROI across agencies
- Manage agency relationships thoughtfully and discreetly
- Provide direction to supporting or part-time marketing contributors
- Establish marketing leadership within a lean organization
- Build toward a more scalable marketing function as the business grows
- Operate with a GM mindset and understand how marketing impacts the full business
- 5+ years of marketing experience
- Ecommerce experience required (DTC strongly preferred)
- Has owned or led paid media programs, not just supported them
- Comfortable managing agencies and holding them accountable
- Experience in small, lean, or founder-led environments
- Hands-on, decisive, and comfortable with broad scope
- In-house marketer at a small or mid-sized ecommerce brand, or
- Agency-side marketer who owned client performance and wants to go in-house
- Experience with high-AOV or considered-purchase products is a plus
- Comfortable building structure where little exists
- A VP-level or enterprise-only marketing leader
- Brand-only or performance-only
- Dependent on large teams or heavy process
