Position: Registered Nurse (RN) First Assistant (RNFA) - Operating Room, Days

Overview

May be Eligible for up to a $10,000 Sign-On Bonus

3 Ten-Hour Shifts

Responsibilities
  • The RNFA is under the direct supervision and direction of the operating surgeon during the assisting phase, and until the conclusion of the operative procedure and does not concurrently function as a scrub nurse.
  • Perform Staff Registered Nurse duties as required, perform preoperative and postoperative patient assessment, recognize safety hazards and initiate appropriate corrective action.
  • Apply principles of asepsis and infection control skillfully.
  • Autonomy in the RNFA role while working closely with the attending surgeon.
Highlights and Service Lines
  • Robotic Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, Total Joint Replacements, Sports Medicine Surgery.
  • Other service lines include: GYN, General Surgery, Urology, ENT, Orthopaedics, Podiatry.
Qualifications
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Must have a current New Hampshire Registered Nurse license.
  • Certification in Operating Room Nursing (CNOR) required.
  • Completion of accredited course in RN First Assisting required.
  • Proficiency in perioperative nursing practice as both scrub and circulating nurse for at least three years.
  • BLS - Within 3 months of hire and maintained on a biannual basis.
  • ACLS, CNOR required.
