Radiology and Vascular Access RN
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Radiology & Vascular Access Nurse to join our team. This role provides high-quality nursing care to both inpatient and outpatient populations within the Radiology Department, which includes multiple imaging modalities, such as Diagnostic Radiology, Fluoroscopy, Computed Tomography (CT), Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). The nurse in this role must be prepared to manage unexpected emergencies that may arise across these specialties.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing radiologic procedures, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Assist in administering sedation as needed, while closely monitoring patient responses and vital signs.
- Respond swiftly to emergency situations, including contrast reactions and procedural complications.
- Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care.
- Provide vascular access support across the organization, serving patients from newborns to centenarians.
- Insert and assess short peripheral IV catheters.
- Utilize ultrasound guidance for IV placement to enhance precision and patient comfort.
- Ensure proper care, management, and compliance of midlines and PICCs.
- Act as a resource and expert in vascular access, ensuring optimal device selection for each patient's needs (short PIVs, ultrasound guided PIVs, extended dwell long PIVs, Midlines, and PICCs).
- Opportunity for advancement and specialized training in PICC and midline placements.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current New Hampshire RN license (or ability to obtain).
- ACLS certification required.
- Radiology nursing experience preferred.
- Critical care experience preferred.
