Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift position on a 27-bed medical-surgical unit, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active NH or Compact RN license.

Job Details

• 27-bed medical-surgical inpatient unit in a hospital setting,

• Patient population is primarily elderly (18+) with diagnoses including post-op ortho, general surgery, ETOH, CHF, and pneumonia,

• RN-to-patient ratio of 5:1; LNA-to-patient ratio of 3:1,

• 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week,

• Every other weekend required,

• Rotating holiday coverage required,

• Epic EMR experience preferred,

• Telemetry experience preferred,

Job Requirements

• Active NH RN license or Compact RN license required; proof of state residency required,

• Current BLS certification required,

• ACLS certification preferred,

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg or equivalent experience required,

• Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience within the last 2 years required,

• Experience with post-surgical drains, central line care/maintenance, and Foley insertion required,

• Experience with G tubes, J tubes, NG tubes, and PEG tubes required,

• Proficiency with IV medication administration and IV push required,

• Experience with wound care and O2 therapy required,

• Two manager references required for consideration,

• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility - local candidates are not eligible for this position,

• Care for a diverse mix of medical and post-operative patients across a range of acuity levels
